grr....I can't remove it!!

I'm trying to replace my 12v socket with a cigerette lighter but I can't get the flaming out!! Am I missing something obvious. I've removed the trim around the socket and pull away the gear stick gaiter

any suggestion would be greatly appreciated

nice one, got it out but now the flaming light doesn't work!! (Lighter works though)

i have a genuine cig lighter and the plastic holder if anyone is interested,it came out of an astra but was only used for display purposes for sale,there is no bulb holder though,the connections on the bottom are spades
