    Default Halfords........am I going mad???

needed an air filter for my 02 2.2dti, so I used their reference book and it said I needed HAF374.

bought it and then took the old one out and it was about a third smaller.

took it back to exchange and I had bought the right one according to the book.

I exchanged it for the petrol version which was larger (HAF366) and that was too small as well.

so - what is the right one before I go mad and attack some teenager behind the desk.........lol?

not really - i bet i would lose........

    please help.......

the size of my one is 240 x 310 x 55mm if it helps.

Take the Halfords one back and get a refund and then go to the dealers and get one or buy a K&N

Weird as I was under the impression they are all the same size with the exception of early 1.8s

I had a K&N in mine, it ran fine, in fact so 'ok' that I took it out as it did'nt make the blindest bit of difference on an otherwise standard car.

Yep - Similar problem with mine.

    I currently have a vec B 2.2 z22se - the listed filter is way too big, I buy the 2.0 one !?!

Its the correct airbox so not a car problem lol
