    Unhappy Slight Problem

Well i was 5 minutes into a 105 mile journey today, when I got a little problem with my car.

I jumped into car drove to local petrol station 500 yards up the road, put 30 quid of unleaded (no super in my area, never had a problem before though) and set off, 5 minutes later as I went to overtake a 2 or 3 cars the car felt weird as if the turbo was switching on and off(a little kangarooish)

It only happened above 4000 revs, but then on came my transmission symbol on the dash and into limp mode I went (not the car with a spanner through it, the one in the shape of an engine) so I stopped the car turned off the ignition and re-started, I thought everything was fine until I tried to put the foot down and it happened again, the turbo comes on and for a second it goes off again, then back on.

I have dropped the car off at my local dealers and will pick it back up on Wedneday as I am working down in camborne till then, my initial feelings is that I have gotten some bad petrol as I have had no problems with the car until I went to the garage, anybody got any other ideas, insight into it.

I could do with some re-assurance as I'm worried about my beastie.

when was the last service, if its only happening above 4000rpm and drives ok up to that maybe it could be just something simple like a clogged fuel filter or air filter, if its fuel filter, when your turbo kicks in and working hard the electrical wizardry will be saying give me more fuel and a clogged filter will say you can't have any which would bring your light on then the car would go to limp mode. not saying that it is that just that these things are'nt always so drastic.
    hope you get it sorted.

Sounds exactly the same as what I'm getting, a slight drop in power and then it's back again, well to be safe I'm going to let vaux take a look and if that's the case I'll claim the costs off the garage.

It's not long past getting a service.

I don't think it's anything drastic, but I do get paranoid sometimes.
