    Default vectra 2.0tdi

I need an engine for my 2003 vectra 2.0dti, are the engines the same as the older 98/99 models or does it have to be out of the same year of car ?

    Default engine

THey are different you will need on from the same year or same range with exact engine ID. hp power ratings are different that means pumps are as well and you need to match to ecu.

    Just done this pal..

Mine came from another 03 2.0 DTI.
Swap the HP Fuel pump over from yours to the new engine (time chain issue) thats it mate.
    Put the new one in.
    Done! No tech needed!

Not that much of a hard job tbh. I had some help with timing on the pump thats it.

    Good luck

As andy above, they 'new' engine just has to be the same engine type and take the 'old' injection pump to it. No issues, timing shouldn't be a huge problem and it's better / easier to refit the pump before fitting the engine in the car.

In fact, if the fuel pump on yours is suspect, I would have thought that you only have to transplant the ECU on the back of it and not the whole pump - that assumes you can separate the 2.

Word of warning, fuel pumps operate at very high pressures - enough to inject diesel into your skin, so be careful when releasing any pressurised fuel, and be sure it is all extremely clean, as dirt will cause issues.
