    Default Clay bars !!

this may be a daft question ,but how long do they last ie,, how many times can they be used, can they be cleaned cos surely when so much dirt/grit is removed from the car it must then start to scratch it again as the dirt will be ingrained

It`s the roof thats worst, I`ve done the rest with Tcut then Megs 3pack. But its like its only seen the dreaded car wash by previous owners, the body work has come up realy good but I`m wanting to get it better now that hopefully the weather is improving.

Just keep your eye on the bar pal. If it gets too dirty get rid and get another bar!

Not sure but maybe if you nead it in your hand enough and maybe put it in warm water you can get rid of most dirt off the bar?? Just a sujestion, havent actually tried it yet but may work.

Also you shouldnt really have to clay your car too much anyway so its not like your changing your clay bar every month or two!

When we had the detailing meet at Autobrite they broke the Clay Bar into small pieces and had a bucket of warm water for it but still used a lube on the car. This might get you 2 uses out of a bar but unsure what the bucket of warm / hot water is for when using lube anyway.
Lump might be able to answer this

yeh if you use one whole bar on the start of a car you may pick up loads. then throw this bit. and start on another panel with a fresh bit of clay.
ive seen pics where people have clayed the whole car with one bit, never folding or throwing it away. so all the bits they are trying to remove have just been dragged around the rest of the car
