Default Recaro Young Profi plus Kiddie seat, isofix

been today to try the recar young profi plus and isofix base into the vec (sri seats) and just wondering if the fitment was right or not..the lady assured me it was fine and not a problem but I'm after your input too...
basically the isofix base clips into the seat..however, due to the angle of the seats in the back..the base itself didnt fit flush against the seat bottom..the only place it sat was on the edge of the seat..and then the leg goes to the bottom of the floor...
so underneath, there is a slight 'gap' towards the rear of the seat...
is that a problem?.. she said if i was worried to pad it out with a blanket etc..
but because it was secured to the car by the isofix method, it wasnt a problem!!..
    so advice please!!..

Not sure on this one mate, but I have two Britax ISO fix seats, one in my Vectra SRI and the other in the wife's Corsa-D.

both are ROCK solid and I mean rock solid, Im pretty sure i have a small gap under my seat due to the angle of the SRI rear seat, makes no difference what so ever,

    hope it helps

the reason we were gonna get the recaro one...is that you can get the next stage seat at 9mths that will fit the same isofix base...
I did ask mothercare etc if there were any other car seats that you can interchange at 9 months with the same base..ie 1 base..infant carrier and then swap to a forward facing 9mths to 4 years.. but they said nope!!..

Any good baby or car shops that sell car seat should know the answer and should be willing to let you try them in your car first. I know when I looked at pushchairs with car seat I had to tell her what car the seat would be going in as it was a Jane carseat and wouldn't fit in certain cars. Astra coupe I had was fine but mum's peugeot 406 estate the belts were only just long enough.

well we fitted the base today...and tried the infant carrier... and then the forward facing seat that you get at 9months...
the lady said the gap wasnt a problem as the base is attatched to the car..and therefore the seat is too.. but there was a gap of a good couple of cm towards the rear of the seat!!

bit crude..but you get the idea..the base is fitted via isofix..and is secure and fits etc..it just rests on the edge of the seat and then the leg goes down to the floor..the bit in red is the gap!
its because of the angle of the sri rear seats..the lady reckons its not a problem..was just after comfirmation really before i buy it!

baby is strapped to seat... seat is secure...
won't make any difference if the bottom of the child seat is not 100% on the rear seat, so long as it's all solid...
