Default Just been to see a car............

Waste of 2 hours of my life. I called yesterday to arrange the visit, guy said it was his sons motor who was in Kenya in the Army, and he was selling it for him to get it off his drive. It was an 02 Corsa 1.2 club. I got there to find the bonnet up and the guy said sorry the battery is flat!, so couldnt eve get a go. The oil was like s**t , and it had been keyed up the one side down to the white primer/undercoat ( how much to fix anyone?). It did have a full service history, and was due a service March, no tax either...........what a muppet. ....and he wanted 1885 ono. He asked me to make an offer I said somewhere round the 1500 mark if it ran ok......just peeved that he didnt try and turn it over yesterday, could have charged the battery up by today.........

That seems to be the norm nowadays with some people . Either the car has been tarted up with back to black sprayed everywhere , or the car is a dog .

Did you try the car with jump leads or a bump just to get it going?

neither of us had leads to jump it, and it was parked on the drive of a busy road with a blind bend, wasnt going to risk it. He said he would call me when he got it going and ask his boy if 1500 would be ok, cant say I`m holding my breath.
Also rear looked suspicious because none of the decals were on there, neither the griffin badge nor the Corsa 1.2 16v, just the word Corsa below the release button.
The guy then told me his boy spent 600 quid on the alloys & tyres.......all I could think of was "why"?, why would he bother?

From what you have said I would not touch it with a bargepole. Too many negative comments. If your first instincnt is that it looks dodgy, DO NOT GO NEAR IT. You will never be happy with it.
That is only my opinion by the way, and I hope it helps.

Keep looking mate it's a buyers market, i'm sure you'll find one to suit your needs and doesn't feel dodgy.
