    Default wiper linkage continued

Well from what we have learned is that there IS a problem with the wiper linkage....

Turns out vx have never heard of such problem

see responce letter. (May I also note the care I recieved in this would ultimately decide on me buying an isignia or not)

    "Dear Mr Barlow

Thank you for your email dated 23 January 2009 regarding your Vauxhall Vectra, registration number *******.

I was sorry to learn of the issues you have experienced relating to the gear linkage in your vehicle, and welcome this opportunity to comment.

Having consulted our Technical Department, I can confirm that we are unaware of any known concern relating to the wiper linkage in Vectra vehicles.

Unfortunately, no manufacturer can guarantee the life expectancy of any part. This is the reason we provide our vehicles with a 3 year/60,000 mile New Vehicle Warranty, on the understanding that the cost of repairing any manufacturing or material defect during this period will be absorbed by the New Vehicle warranty. Once this period expires, such costs are chargeable to the vehicle’s owner.

I was sorry to learn of the action you wish to take, however, can confirm that, as your vehicle is over 2 years outside its New Vehicle Warranty period, we would not look to assist with repair costs on this occasion.

May I thank you once again for taking the time to write and for allowing me the opportunity to comment.

    Yours sincerely

    Duncan Falconer
    Customer Service Manager "

Yet again i ask if you have suffered with this please add your self to the list to prove there is a problem

Twaddle! Why would they have modified the part if there wasn't a problem with it? Manufacturers don't just modify things in production if there isn't a reason to.

EDIT: As above, as I'm assuming you/they are only referring to the wiper linkage?

Not sure what's going on with that responce letter . But I know for a fact that when my linkage decided to go , the one I finally bought from Vauxhall ( plus it was on back order in July 2005 as so many where failing ) was a modified version . So a BIG YES Vauxhall knew there WAS a PROBLEM from the beginning .
