    Default Boot Lip Spoiler..

    Hi,

I have bought the following spoiler off Ebay for £36.... I have a mate who works in a bodyshop and will spray it up for free (monday) so fingers crossed it will look good but my question is, how sticky do you think the pads are and should I do anything imparticular with regards to fitting it??

use some tiger seal or sikaflex, that'll do the job.

Is this easy to get from shops? Is it something I could add the to the sticky strips?

This was a complete and utter waste of money. Got it properly painted and it just turned to jelly when the paint got hot. It does go back to the original shape.

Could I spray this myself do you think?

I have the exact same spoiler and i dropped the car off at the body shop to get it sprayed AND fitted (also getting the drivers wing part sprayed)

Will post pics when i pick it up again tomorrow. If it's a good job, i'll ask them how they managed it and post details.

I know the spoiler is like extruded rubber so would assume they will stick it on the car first, then mask off and spray, else like you say it'll flex and the paint will be a mess.

They haven't phoned me yet to say it's a pile of poo yet which is hopefully a good sign.

If they spray it and it flakes and comes off in the next 5 years then they'll have to redo it as they warranty their work for that long

Well I had a call off the bodyshop this afternoon saying the car wasn't ready and i'd have to wait till tomorrow, stating they we're having a problem with the work.

My first thought was the spoiler so I actually said "It's the spoiler isn't it?"

To my surprise they told me that the spoiler is fine!!!!!! (So I will ask them what they did and will post pics)

The actual problem is that they stripped the drivers door outsides as they were spraying the drivers wing and were blending it into the door.

Now they can't get the door handle back on!

I've seen a few people on here have the same issue. Is there a knack to it that i should tell them?
