    Default Freesat

Having ditched the idea of getting Sky, I'm seriously thinking of getting Freesat. Around 150 channels with free HD from the BBC/ITV.

Anybody got it who can give thumbs up/thumbs down.

I seriously looked at it last year before then going with Sky+. The only real reason I didn't go for it was because there was only the one PVR box and it didn't have a digital audio output to go into my surround processor - so went with Sky+ as we got a free box. If there are better/more Freesat PVR boxes out by the time our Sky+ 12 months subscription is up then I'll probably switch to Freesat (heard good things about it) and all it needs is a new box as the Sky dish can be left and reused.

im also looking into it, we have sky downstairs, which is useful as the LNB on our sky dish has spare output which i can use as the sky dish runs off same satellite (astra 2d) as freesat.

Can you still use this freesat, even if your Telly had built in freeview??.

I was toying with the idea of getting Freesat but the lack of PVR based machines puts me off. I think a Panasonic one is due out soon and there is the Humax out now.

I am paying £45 a month to sky and I get Multi Channels, Movies and HD but I think it is far to expensive so how much is this freesat and what channels do you get for free as I like the Dave, Discovery Turbo, and Discover Realtime channels and dont really want to lose them

I ditched $ky a while back, cost too much for the amount of time we watching.

Bought the Humax Freesat HD back in May, Olympics on BBC HD was fantastic, great drama , the hours are still a bit short but the beeb are increasing to 9 hrs of HD by years end.

ITV's HD offering is a bit hit 'n' miss but there are a few programmes

You won't regreat going HD though

look here for the channel lineup
