    Default Brakes

    I have been let down again by a mobile mechanic , he promised to come today and do my brakes front / back discs and Pads, supplied and fitted for £185

    Didnt show at 9am this morning...... need some honest opinions on the back, if i get a rewind tool, am i good to go, are they easy / hard.... used to work on cars ages ago, but never done the rears, always the fronts

    rears dead easy

    As yb said, rears not a big job and the rewind tool is certainly recommended - less chance of screwing up the threads.

    I'm doing my rears this weekend, so if you fancied a trip to Sussex then doing a second set wouldn't be a big deal. You can get the parts yourself from a dealer (about £65) - they're usually a stock item. Part number is 93186301.

    He called and said he would be here at 4pm, if he doesnt arrive going to tell him where to stick them and do it myself tomorrow

    That'll be fun for him doing them in failing light . I'd want to go for a test drive after he's done them, just in case. You never know .

    Tell him not to bother and do it yourslef or with Duncan. At least you'll know that the job has been done properly. He can hardly complain about you blowing him out either seeing as he failed to keep his appointment this morning. I bet he doesn't use a proper rewind tool either.......

    This would say to me that the brakes are to hard for him to do
