Im new this club, but Ive loved vauxhalls for a while and love my current signum to bits. Anyway I wanted to know what people thought the best place to get maintenance work done on their vauxhall is in London with competitive pricing?

I just had a new wiper motor fitted and the windsheild washer resevoir cleaned which all cost £411 at Currie Motors Wimbledon which seems a bit steep.

Any thoughts? thanks

Oh my god £411

You could have done that job yourself for the cost of parts.. There are plenty of people on here that would give you helpful advice. Might be worth considering

OMG! The motor is £70ish and takes 30mins to change, the washer bottle clean should cost no more than £20 imo!!

Vectra C Wiper Motor on eBay = £24.95 BUY NOW

Clean Washer Bottle = £0 (take it off the car, use pressured water from hosepipe to clean it through, stick it back on)

It could go either way in my opinion.

I bet they have charged you correctly for the parts, but built up the bill through labour charges.

What does it say exactly on your bill? How are the costs itemised?

Also, you need to be a bit on your toes at the moment as everyone is scratting around for business. I took my little crappy Astra to an MOT centre the other day and the car failed its MOT on 'exhaust condition'.

First they quoted me £200 for a stainless steel backbox
Then they quoted me £100 for a normal steel backbox...

So I took the car away, got the backbox fitted (brand new) for £34.62 !! ... including VAT and labour !

Took it back and it passed straight away !

get a quote off another vx garage then if big difference take it up with vx.mat be good to get part only price

ok ill do that thanks but before I do here is breakdown in case this sheds any light on anything....

it broke down as

£59 - wiper motor
£76 - linkage, wiper
£6.60 filter, screenwash, special screw, expanding rivet

£216 - Labour

+vat came to £411.
