Default SRI Vectra: Read and be warned!!!

Was about to get into my Siggers this morning when i noticed the wifes SRI Vectra drivers window gone, talk about bricking your pants. I went over expecting to see broken glass on the inside of the car, but no. Then i noticed the passenger window down too and the doors still locked. My wife only bought the car a week ago. She contacted the dealer who the phoned Vauxhall. He explained to the mechanic what had happened and got the reply "Ah, I know exactly what the problem is, the computer need reset / reprogrammed". Apparently this IS a problem then. Just as well there was nothing valuable in the car, I was actually going to fit a new alpine yesterday but didnt have the time.

Could anyone let me know if they have had any similar problems...

    If not, beware...

Initially I thought that, The car was fine when I went to bed, both sets of keys were in the drawer downstairs, the cars are parked about 50 feets from the houses, the remotes only work from the front door and not inside the house. On the siggers when you hold the ublock button down all windows open.

I asked the same thing, judging by the mechanics response, this isn't the first time its happened to a Vectra

From having been a member on this forum for quite a while I have read many threads about "has any one found their windows open". So It must really be a problem that VX DO KNOW about, or your mechanic was on the ball and a good bloke to know and let work on your motor.

It makes you wonder if you can trust leaving your car parked with anything in it

I got that a few times - both fronts down by the same distance (not always fully). I put it down to the key somehow being activated (could even have been pressed in my pocket, or by 'those pesky kids' etc).

However, as to the mystery of the car still being locked, even if the 'total open' long unlock keypress has been used, the car will relock after 30 secs - won't be deadlocked or tilt/jacking protected, but will have alarm set.

Dealers reset keys and car, it's not happened since (although there have been a few other quirks, such as the plip not operating the remote locks occasionally)
