confused Sudden loss of Power Vectral 2.2 Sri

    Hi ppl,

My Vec (2006) 2.2 Direct Sri lost power on way to work this morning.
Light came on the dash (spanner inside car).
Revs limited to 2,500, no higher even with foot flat to floor.
Drives in Gears 1 + 2 only as very slow.
    Starts every time though.
    Never happened before.
    Any Ideas please?
    Many Thanks.

High Pressure fuel pump when that goes I think the car still starts but wont rev high if the fuel pressure regulator goes I think the car does not start full stop.
But from what your saying there mate looks to me like fuel pump

Is your car still in warranty??

If not there was a thing on watch dog about our cars the other night £600 for a new pump but they said have a word with Vauxhall they might be able to do some sort of Deal pay some money towards the bill as its common on the 2.2 Direct

You know what mate everytime I hear of one of these going on here it makes me worry as theres no way in hells earth I could pay 600 quid for one of them knowing it could happen again at anytime.

I think Vaux should pay all the bill how can they expect people to keep paying out for defective products really P1*ses me right off.

    Yes mate it will.
Get it in there soon as as you dont want to loose out on getting it replaced free and having to spend loads of money on it.

My advice phone them up now tell them whats happend and get it booked in they will probably know its the pump right away as there has been that many people complaining about it
