Cheers for the guidance - had my suspicions so I'll see what they say - will they clean it or replace the egr?

Anytime mate not to sure what they will do some places will just replace it as they cant be arsed faffing around cleaning it its easier to order a new part.
Best thing to do is just ask mate I know the Vauxhall were my mate works he will just order a new part as it saves time and hassle

Its the one in speke mate dont say I said that thou he might get in to trouble
I think they just do it anyways as I say time is money its going to be alot quicker replacing rather than just cleaning they have to get through alot of cars you see.

Were about are you from mate?

Live on the Wirral - thats a Lookers garage too isnt it - so hopefully, my local one will be the same. I can see how much faffing about there is to get it cleaned, and it'll never be like new again.

    Ahh not to far.

Yeah thats a lookers one as well I would have thought yours should be the same

Oh yes Would be a pain in the arse for them to clean it rather than replacing the thing which is easier all around and saving the mechanics time too

Going to phone Vx dealer about this later, and also to try and get the starter fixed at the same time. What timescale am I looking at for both parts to be replaced?

    do you mean Starter motor??

Well it normally takes 2 - 3 working days to get the parts in so if you get them ordered in they will give you a date to book your car in will probably take a couple of hours
