i.e did you just fill the fuel filter up and replace it and it started and has been fine or was there somthing you needed to do to get your car to run after the filter change

Hi Chris I think there was thread a few days ago relating to this question. As I recall it needs filling or an air lock gives you problems. I'm not a diesel person but hope this helps.

What have you found is the best way to tighten the filter housing after changing the filter? On both occasions it's taken 2 of us with a pair of oil filter clamps/grips each too tighten it properly. Surely there must be an easier way to do this anyone?

I did mine and just turned ignition on so pump kicked in turned it off and repeated it 3 times, this filled up the strainer. Best to have some diesel in there to be safe though. If its anything like mine its a pain in the arse to open. The part you undo says its to be tightened to 30Nm but mine was way tighter so was the replacement I had to buy.

best way to change the filter is to remove the housing completely or you run the risk of breaking the filter housing brackets
