    Default cdti 1.9 service help

hi all , just a quick question, my cdti 150 horse vectra is due her first service. my mate who is a mechanic in our local vauxhall garage is going to do it for me, he going to do the full service and all, write down the miles, use genuine vx parts and oil and give me a docket, my question is will this nullify my warranty, all advice is welcome

you must get the service done by a vat registered garage, idealy a vauxhall garage as any problems may cost you dearly,if you were to get a service done by a non vauxhall garage vauxhall ,may not want to help you if the car is just out of warranty, plus any recalls or reworks for your car wont get done

My experience (and this is different to some peoples experience on here) was that Vx was not interested in after warranty help.

You can legally go wherever you like for a service (or repairs for that matter) without affecting your warranty provided that the work is done to Vauxhall's specification and where appropriate uses genuine manufacturer's parts etc.

In practice though you will have at least some hassle with future warranty work if you use a non-Vauxhall agent because you may need to prove to Vauxhall's satisfaction that the work was in fact carried out correctly. Also as mentioned earlier they may not know of any manufacturer's recommended modifications for your car.

My cars have never been to a dealer for servicing, and I have never had any issues with warranty work being carried out. I actually self service, but am a fully qualified and experienced Engineer within the automotive industry

As long as you have an invoice stating the service has been done by a VAT registered garage and using ALL Vauxhall parts, your warranty will be uneffected.

See if your mate can borrow the dealer stamp for your service book that way then it looks legit

They were with me, but only after they checked it had full vx service history.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!
