    Default 2.7 and 2.9 V6 dropped?

I have it on good authority that Vauxhall have put the 2.7 and 2.9 V6 CDTi engines on the back burner with a view to them not making it to the new Insignia.

Not sure of the reasons, maybe it's emmisions, or low expected sales etc.

The 2.7 was scheduled to be 200PS and the 2.9 at 250PS, but with the 2.0 Twin turbo diesel being 190-200PS and a rumour of a 230PS version of the 2.0 Twin turbo diesel, maybe it doesn't leave a market for the V6's!

This is not strictly true, due the pending recession fears towards te last half of 2008, Opel and Vauxhall have been very clever and not over produced the Insignia. There are not too many already built.

A friend of mine has ordered a standard Insignia SRi NAV 2.0 CDTi 160, with just bluetooth, in Metro Blue and it's a factory order.

It would be a shame if the V6 didn't appear. I know that it is possible to get the power out of 4 cylinder but there is something about a v or straight 6 engine. I have had the v6 cdti for two years and would not like to go to a four cylinder again.

Probably because everyone with any sense has realised diesels should be in trucks and tractors?

GM in germany where the insignia is produced, has had to introduce a night shift as the demand for the insignia is so high, so i would not belive that is correct, as the insignia must be selling very well.
