Tell you what Andy, you try it first, if it works, let us know....

Seriously, though, on a cool, delicate wash they should be fine. Just dry them flat.

    I wouldn't - I think it'd screw up all the backing.

A wet vec would do the trick if you have access to one - otherwise a really good vacuum and then a light going over with a stiff brush and some upholstery cleaner.

Try some APC and a chamois, always worked well when i've done mats in the past, just hoover them off when you've got most of the moisture off.........

that was funny might just have to get on my hands and knees and gently scrub them it would have been so much easier to chuck them in the machine but the mrs wasn't to keen anyway

Brush and dry thoroughly, then hang and beat with a stick to get the ingrained dirt out of the pile.

I usually just bang them on the house brick work to knock the dirt etc out.

I bought some of Ebay and they were a bit mucky so I Vaxed them with the hand held bit and used the normal Vax shampoo and Autoglym interior shampoo for the bigger stains etc and they came up well. But all this wintery weather now means that they need doing again.
Shame you didnt live close to me as I would of done them for you
