As title, as I see far too many people on the roads who have no idea how to use them properly, so I thought I'd start a poll to understand what people think they do...

To turn them on at the slightest arrival of mist, and then leave them on for days on end

I went for the 3rd one, I ONLY use my FRONT and / or REAR fog lights when I cant see the car in front's lights at a reasonably close range...that's when I know that the car behind me cant see mine LOL.

Only if you drive for days on end

When you turn your main lights of the fogs automatically cancel themselves and wont come back on until the muppet presses the button to turn them on

I was going to vote for (3) because that is exactly the purpose when visibility is reduced and question (1) only refers to fog.

But as I don't think it is legal to use them when not in reduced visibility (heavy spray is a good example of when they should be used) then perhaps question (1) is the answer.

Hate it when following soemone with them on at night on a clear evening.

I've got one of the first Veccy C's in Aus, and the fogs won't work without the headlights on and reset every time they are turned off/on.

To test them at every available opportunity... if they are working, the guy behind will turn bright red and start twitching violently.
