    Default Anyone had this before???

Came back from visiting my daughter yesterday, about an hours drive on a mixture of roads, used the CC quite alot as I seem to get better MPG, just a steady drive and managed to achieve 30MPG not bad for a 2.0T and all was fine, parked up on driveway and left her for a couple of hours until I had to go to work, Set off about 9pm ish to continue my steady driving, got out the 30mph area and went to sent the CC again...nothing, tried again....nothing and so on, occaisionly the CC light would flicker on the dash but not stay on. No big deal I thought as I've read a few things on here about CC and thought I would look it up the remedy when i got home 12hrs later. Then the car started feeling strange, like a lack of power, I was in 3rd gear and thought i'd give it the beans. WTF car would not go above 5000rpm and sounded like i was revving the nuts of it at that, and speed would not go above 60mph, This got me worried, stereo off, fans off to se if there was any strange noises and to check I could still hear the turbo, as that was my first thought, all seemed fine. After 7-8 miles of worrying got toa junction and thought i's give it the beans again...WTF everyrhing back to normal 6600rpm gives me 80mph odd and power through all gears as it should be.

I doubt very much that the two things are related, just wondered if anyone else has had this sort of thing. More concerned about the latter tbh.

    Any help would be apprieciated.

And just to top things off, my dog has just puked his guts up on the stairs from the haslet I gave him earlier.

i think its an engine management problem the latter - like maybe a cam or crankshaft position sensor.

my mate has a vec b that won't go over 5000 revs and its the cam sensor

If you felt the engine was revving too fast but the car wasn't going it could be the clutch slipping
