    Default Veccy Estate

    Hi all

I recently had my 05 siggy 120 cdti design nicked and burnt out.

Fortunately I had GAP insrance,so I'll not be too out of pocket.

What I need is an idea on what I'd like next:

Veccy estate 150 cdti Auto - design, Sri or Elite

The problems I found with my siggy were:
    clunky suspension at the front
A VERY rough sounding engine, even for a diesel
    A generally unpleasant gearbox
    uninspiring fuel economy.

WOuld the 16v diesel engine be any more refined?
    What's the auto box like?

I'm hoping the driving experience will be the same as the siggy as they share the same wheelbase etc.........

I drove my parents new Auto Zafira 120cdti to spain in Sept, (which I believe has the same inteligent auto box as the Veccy / Signum) and it was very very nice to drive, the 6 speed auto is brilliant, and we were getting something like 44mpg, which wasn't bad as were doing 80 to 90mph best part of the way (only where allowed of course)

I have a Vectra SRI NAV XP Estate which is a 150 16v and i really like it.. i've had mine remapped and its pretty nippy

The Zafira 120 has now also been remapped and puts out around the same, if not slightly more BHP as a standard 150cdti does.

My dad has a Zafira 1.9 CDTi 120, and although it is very good, it's not as refined as the 16v 150. So I can understand where your coming from.

    Persoanlly I won't have a bad word said about the 1.9 150.

Ohh ohh ohh I've got fickin good news for you, if you want a Vec CDTi auto est Design brand new for 14k, SRi should be slightly less and an Elite a bit more, that's the in the know price of one right now.

Auto CDTi is much better than manual, it still has slight lag but not as much, mid range is excellent, fuel is so so in town, excellent on a run.

    HAHA!

Yes, I already have a VX "insider" that got me an obscenely good deal on the siggy.

She is poised to do the same again.........

    I'm still a little so/so.
I need to have a go.

I'm also considering V70 Volvo or A4 Avant TDi. I've had Audis before though and I find them boring. I found the siggy boring too, but at least I hadn't paid over the odds to be bored - and it had it's moments too.........lol

Why would SRi be cheaper? I really liked the seats in the siggy design - why veccy would have those? They were half "old english vinyl"......... ha!

SRi doesn't hold the money as well, look on AT and all the SRi versions are £500 cheaper than Design's.

Do they lack equipment or something?
I could do without the turn by turn sat nav - but I'd like to be able to install a proper iPod type arrangement in stereo (i.e, have aux in the stereo)

I like the SRi wheels but I don't like paying for the tyres.
