Default Help! My car tax runs out at the end of the month but.............

DVLA haven't sent me my form to renew the tax so I pressume that I can't do it in a Post Office if I can find one that does tax let alone online!?

Does anyone know how to tax a car-preferably online without the forms?

If I do manage to pay for it and it doesn't arrive by the 1st can I still drive the car bearing in mind that I travel through Nottingham and with all their cameras they know where I am all the way to and from work!!!!???

Obviously I'd like to pay my roadtax as I would hate to think that the Government didn't have enough money to fix all the potholes in the road without my money............

No DVLA paperwork is required. Just go to the post office and take Log book, Insurance and MOT Cert. They will do it there and then. You must pay cash or with a cheque though as they won't accept a card.

If you are not able to get to the post office you can do it on line and pay with a card that way. You get a confirmation number which you can quote if you get pulled by the plod to prove you are taxed.

if i'm not mistaken it is an offence not to show a valid tax disc on your car if your useing it on the public highway,so even if you have got it on line and waiting for it to be deliverd by good old pigeon post you may get the old bill pulling you or if you are parked on a road an over keen parking meter maid may well photo your car with no tax disc in the window and send it off and you may get a little surprise on your door matt one morning.............it's not woth the risk mate not these days

    HOB!!!
It is an offence, but DVLA will notify PNC if tax has not been paid. If you have paid it and it hasnt arrived, dont worry, everything will be in order!

I thought that the rules had been slightly ammended to accomodate online taxing and the post requirements.

If you have a Post Office handy 'use them or lose them'. Failing that do it on line, it will be with you in about three days they know if you have the relevant other requirements MOT & Ins, scary.

You have a 5 day grace period to allow for the new disk to arrive if taxed on-line or over the phone.

This reminds me must do mine tonight.
