    Default How do you decide?

How do people make their minds up when choosing alloy wheels? I've been toying with the idea of changing them, but what if I spent a grand on a set of rims and then decided I didn't like them on the car? There doesn't seem to be many makes with the correct PCD and offset, so the choice is pretty limited anyway.

The one I was looking at was the TSW Catalunya, but they only come in grey/polished or chrome, both of which seem a little too bling for me. Do you reckon they'd suit a blue Vec?

I think the top one, but then I see a pic like this

and think it looks like the car has whitewall tyres on!

This one looks better, but the wheels just look silver, rather than chrome, which is better.

u could always get a set of wheels with a different PCD (5x112 or 5X108) and use "wobbly bolts", this is what ive done. ive got a set of brabus (merc) style wheels on my car. the only thing to watch for then is obviously the offset and the centre bore.
i had a bit of trouble with the centre bore of my wheels. they were drilled to fit straight on a merc. the centre bore is 66.6mm where as the vec centre bore is 65.1. which meant i needed to find a spiot ring .75mm thick. no one makes them this thin. the thinnest is 1mm thick, i used these and just slowlly tightened the wheels up over the spigot ring and cus the rings were plastic they squashed slightly. so ive got very tight spigot rings now.

ive rambled on quite a bit now, hope some of this helps

It sounds like you need to go a showroom and have the alloys placed up against your car.

I've bought all my alloys from www.wheel-base.co.uk. They've got a wheel holder that they place up against your car so you can add different alloys to see which you like.
