    Default moving shed

This summer I bought a £700 shed, which I am over the moon with. However, we have just put a bid into a house we saw whilst out walking the dog.. that we didn't really think would ever be accepted, but has been!!

Problem is.. how do I get me shed there? I really do not want to leave it here, its brand new and I've just given it three coats of treatment externally, two coats internally & sealed the floor!

The new house is only about half a mile away, so it could maybe go on the back of a pick up?

Or it couldbe taken to bits.. but it's nailed, not bolted together.. and I'm no joiner either!

Anyone had experience of this before?

Tried myself once to move one, albeit a bit smaller than yours, and the whole thing became unstable and started to flex. Anymore movement and it would have been firewood. You'd be surprised at the weight of a fully assembled shed - even my smaller one needed four of us to lift it and it was still unstable so we took it apart (screws).

Apart from I can't see it going through your gate in one piece , the safest way to prevent damage to the shed itself is to dismantle it - sorry.

I've thought about the gate.. would need to remove the gatepost temporarily & then would have access to the drive. I reckon it's gonna have be taken apart too.. I just cant admit it yet

might give the company that erected it a ring, see if they can dismantle them too!

    cheers anyway

I moved one about a mile a few months ago. It was bigger than yours as it was one of those Swiss Chalet looking things that you get for kids to play in. I raised it onto four pallets and secured it to them through the floor and then a bunch of my mates came round and we picked it up and carried it.

It was heavy and rather awkward but we got it here with no damage and to be honest once we got started it was a doddle. If you have a mate with a fork lift then once you get it out of the garden they could move it down the road for you.
