    Default bsr remap

I'm seriously thinking of having a bsr remap, can anyone answer some questions please.

How much for the full stage 3?
Can the standard gearbox and all other parts of the car handle the extra power?
does it decrease mpg for normal driving?
is it gonna increase wear and tear of engine parts?

basically are there any downsides to having done???

Yours answers and opinions would be a great help to me before i take the plunge

Have a look on this site mate:
    http://en.bsr.se/products/ppc/

Basically if you read what people have said on here then you would not be disappointed in the slightest.
Someone will answer the rest shortly no doubt

From standard straight to S3 it's around £1700 - well it was around jan 2007 when we had a Group Buy on the BSR, so it 'may' have gone up since.

    Basically yes.

Not really - only when you get a heavy right foot and even then I hardly noticed it.

Any increase in power and torque is going to 'possibly' increase any wear and tear. Your clutch 'may' need replacing sooner than if it was standard. As long as you aren't hammering it all the time and are mechanically sympathetic i.e. not hammering it when it's cold, allowing turbo warm up and cool down then you shouldn't drastically alter the life of anything.

You may start to acquire points on your license! Seriously! I picked up my first three points late in 2007 not long after going from S1 to S3 and last week got stopped and a stern word. It accelerates so quickly and smoothly that you don't often realise what speed you've hit until you look at the speedo and by then, as I found, it was too late!

Thanks for that duncan, i was hoping you was gonna answer my questions.
Dunno why but thought it was about the £500 mark for stage 3 so cant really afford it at the mo given the current climate of things.
Cant afford any points either just gone from 12 to 9 so still borderline and another 13 mths to go till some more come off.

Guess i'll have to keep dreaming for a bit longer. Thanks everyone

The Stage 1 is around that price (£550) - is that what you were maybe thinking of?

Don't forget you can still go for S1 and when you have the £££ to get S3 you basically just pay the difference between them.

S1 makes quite a difference over standard.

Not sure if BSR quote that, you'd need to look. It's a bit quicker from memory, but where S3, and even S1, come into their own is the mid-range performance. That is where you really notice it.
