rang vaux cust servs up today about my rear brakes, they are now telling me that there warranty will not cover the brakes because ive done more than 18k, its now on 19k, and it was on 17884 when i picked it up 2/half weeks ago, so ive got to take car back to arnold clarke staffs where i bought it from and try to get them to change the rear discs and pads( ive got a written report from vaux saying they need changing) im hoping they will change them under their 30 day warranty, i just think they will try and fob me off with the old 'wear and tear' excuse

Makes you wonder if you had driven it onto the road in front of their showroom and u- turned and drove it straight back in and reported the fault if they would have said the same thing - "arh but sir - you have put 1/10 of a mile on since you bought it - what do you expect"

shocking - but then again in the the current financial situation - everyone is trying to save money at the expense of customer service / good name.

From experience talking to Arnold Shark is just a complete waste of time.
Keep at VX with it and they should help out.
Did you not get a Network Q warranty with that car.
If you did you will be covered for the brakes with VX.

Hi mate 30 day warranty means absolutley nothing..

I am head mechanic at my garage/sales place and we like arnold sell with 30 day or 1000 miles... but when a car comes back for whatever reason withing 6 months...must be a good reason we repair or sort out the issue in hand ...although if its down to neglect or whatever needless to say their told to chuff it!!..

My Boss told me the reason most garages WILL sort cars even after the 30 day warranty period is that the Seller(trade) is responsible for the vehicle for 6months from the date of sale...

As he said not alot of people know this.and this is where most garages think their are onto a winner...but their is a few out their who look into it further(trading standards etc) and know where they stand.
