    Default Fitting a towbar to a signum

    Hi can anybody tell me if i need to drill holes to fit a towbar onto my signum, i have the towbar and electrics (bosal). and is it easy?

    Or anybody know anybody who will fit it in the north east?

    It's in swedish, but the pictures are in english Yes, you need to drill holes to fit the towbar. 22mm holes iirc.

    You do have to drill holes, I have done two signums now.

    As stated, it requires holes drilling to fit the 2 thickish load support plates which are fitted either side of the boot, which goes through the 2 main body members. You may also have to drill and grommet the rear of the boot for the cables, though you may be able to route them through the rear number plate grommet.

    Personally, for the small charge they make, I would have it fitted by someone like 'Towequipe'

    My old 56 plated vec C also needed Tech-2 to enable the dash signal warning, and to disable car reversing lights etc. when the van was connected. Mine came with the VX towing kit already fitted, as I had ordered it when new, but VX had failed to Tech-2 it properly, and it had to be returned to the dealers to be done again.

    From memory they are 30mm - but it should tell you in the instructions?

    Got the instructions duncan but cant find the size drill bit required been to b & q but they aint got one.

    Anybody know of any mobile towbar fitters in the north east?

    You're not going to find a 30mm bit as such - you need the step bits type that start smaller and get larger - this kinda thing.... http://www.screwfix.com/prods/15976/...0DRILL-_-15976

    ..but obviously larger than that.
