Default And Up Go Fuel Costs Again

Fuel costs are drifting upwards again despite oil prices continuing to drop and VAT being reduced. Prices around here have risen 4p/litre in the last week despite oil prices having fallen to the level they were last at 4 years ago. Nice to know that the recession isn't hurting the oil companies at all while they can continue to shaft their favourite customers.

It is about time this government did something about these sort of price rise,e. Same should be done for the Gas and Electricity charges too. These sort of things being reduced would help the people that have been made redundant or are on short time and finding it difficult to make ends meet. No wonder shops and the likes are closing, if people have to pay higher prices for "fuel" etc, they have less to spend in the shops and the likes....... Rant over. For now.

Fuel is purchased and sold in dollars - check the differences in exchange rate and then think about it. The problem is that we were (relatively) spoilt when the pound was grossly overvalued at $2.00. It's underweight now thanks to the government and BoE encouraging it downwards with negative statements and there is probably worse to come before it gets better. Sorry I can't be more encouraging but it isn't all the fault of the oil companies, though I would very much like it to be.........
