    Default Rusting Back Box..

I noticed the other day when i removed the rear bumper to fit my parking sensors, that the back exhaust part(rear box) is quite badly rusted, but is not that bad that its blowing or anything,as money is tight for myself at present i came up with the idea to try and rust proof it or somthing of the sort to prolong it's life...dont now how much a back box would run out at for my 03 2.0 dti but the rest of the sysyem looks good for the age of car..can anyone recomend a method to slow the process down a bit...cheers in advance.
