    hi guys,

    can anyone tell me if the Fuel Regulator is the same as the Swirl Actuator?

    anyone watch 'Watchdog' about dodgy Vectra's The 2.2 Direct models (Z22YH)

    No mate. The swirl Actuator is part of the inlet manifold. It control the air speed in the runners. And yes that system is prone to failure in the direct as well.

    if the Swirl Actuator fails, how much should i expect to fork out? or better still can you point me in the direction where i can get my mits on 1, 2, or 3???? what else comes with the deal?

    where do the problems end???? Arghh

    You need a hole new manifold I believe. Not cheep. Its the same system as on the CDTi's I think, different part but same type of thing.

    I have a 1.9 16vCDTI i paid a total of £382.00 at the dealers for a new manifold and actuator plus gaskets. i then had to get it fitted and that wasn't the end of the problems.

    OMG!! what else brewed up?

    besides going back to the dealers, is there anywhere else i can buy the kit? vauxparts?

    No kit mate, new manifold. Basically there is a little motor that moves a linkage that in turn moves the "flaps". I believe the idea is thinner runners for faster air for better low down torque, larger greater volume moving runners for top end power. The ECU controls the hole lot depending on engine revs and load.

    The only place I would try would be Autovaux other than the dealer. I'm presuming its a Genuine VX part only.
