What would you suggest mate, if someone came to you with that problem?

    Thanks,

Not sure if this helps but he got it spot on for my car.
    Hi Robbie,

No mate , he just had the 3 star silvers on a swab match thingy and the Star Silver 3was the closest match to the car.

Dont know what to do next mate!

depends on how much they wanted to spend but i would blend the colour into the wings using the trim line to soft edge from so not to paint the whole wing.it would just be the case of puffing the colour he used from the edge of the bumper to about 4 to 5 inches ito the wing and then laquering the part of the wing tht is exposed.

    Thanks mate,

Do you reckon he should do the corners again and blend about 4"-5" into the wing with Star Silver 3?

Do you think that it would look better and get a better match mate?

Sorry for the questions, but im a bit mift with it!

But i must admit the finish is second to none on the paintwork, as factory finish!!

    Thanks mate,
    Roy.

All vec C's are Star silver 3. Vec b is star silver 2, think VX alloys are star silver 2 also. 3 is the lightest. VX bumpers are primed in white, did your sprayer use grey?

I have a small chip on both bumpers and the factory primer is showing through as white. Dont know what it is on facelift, but I know pre facelifts dont suffer from the different shade problem as much.

White would deffo lighten the shade. My old man works in industrial paints and aligning the flake has a lot to do with shade. You should spray a panel in the position it sits on the car, so if a door, then it should be sprayed upright not laid down, a bonnet should be laid flat, not on its side and so on. The flake is reflects the light, so if the flake is not laid right you get a duller/darker appearance.
