Burns Night

'Tis Burns Night tonight, and I am looking forward to a debauched evening of eating too much Haggis than is good for me and drinking plenty of Guinness and Whisky [I've already started on the Guinness and I know it's not Scottish but it goes with Whisky a treat!]

Ony yin else gaunie gang fer a blow oot the nicht? Ah may jist git blootered mesel'!

[I'm not Scottish but having spent a LOT of time there in the past, I have to say, top country, top people, and very hosiptable they are contrary to the stereotype. My wife and I love Scotland so much we even named our kids with Scottish names to remind us of our days courting.... Awwwww!]

And aye! Ah do ken the patter jist fine!

I'm ashamed to say that I didn't get hold of any Haggis - tricky blighters to catch with them having two shorter legs on one side to enable them to run around hills more easily!

OK, Mrs D wouldn't be eating it so that's the main reason why - although I'll certainly be partaking of a few drams!

Oh yes indeedy! I have salted away some of my fave for an after-dinner dram, [I'll be drinking the cheap stuff WITH dinner]. I got a bottle of my favourite Talisker for Xmas and always save a wee drappie for Burns night!
