confused 2.2 or 2.2 Driect Been Remapped? and BIG performance

    Hi All,

Has anyone on here had their veccy or signum rempped?

Anyone who has the 2.2 or 2.2 Direct engines?

What gains have you got? Or have you lost anything?

I have had claims of an extra 20BHP, making that 172, and 250NM of torque?

    Also, anyone used/heard of http://www.bigperformance.co.uk/rema...p?car=vauxhall

    Thanks,
    Ian.

20 bhp, no chance mate. The Direct is a pain in the rear to tune, just because no one does it. Gas flow is the 2.2's biggest restriction, so getting more in and getting it out again is what your after. A map alone will only give you 10bhp tops on the 2.2 and thats a EDS one. 200 bhp is easily achievable, but you will need zorst manifold £350, sports cat £60, cat back zorst £250- £350, Piper cams, think they are something like £250 for regrinds for the Z22SE, port and polish TB DIY, sports filter £45, than a Map to make it all work, £350-£500 but no one makes a Map for a tuned 2.2. Try TMS and Courtney Sport for a Map as they run a heavy testing program on the 2.2 due to there VX220 interests.

All this has been done on the SE but not on the YH (Direct), sure better waste gas management is easily done but your inlet manifold it a right ball ache so getting air is is a pain in the rear.

ive heard of big performance remaps before from the smart car world never used them but i have heard some good stuff about them but also knew a couple of guys that had to return there a few times to alter the maps on their smart. but apparently the smart is a hard one to remap cause the gear changing gets involved aswell which is what the two guys i knew had problems with so im presuming aslong as you aint got tip tronic gearbox everything would be all good from there
