Default Watchdog - Engine Management issue

Thanks for bringing this watchdog report to my attention:

Although the report concentrated on 2.2 petrol models I note that other models seem to suffer the same problem.

I drive a 1.9 diesel Vectra - and have had to suffer 'limp home mode' on a number of occasions since last August and I note that it seems to be a regular complaint on this forum.

Is this the same problem that is affecting the 2.2 petrols or is it somehow less serious?

There are various other possibilities for the management light on a 1.9CDTI - you're best bet is to get the fault codes read to determine the cause.

The #3 injector loom is a known issue on the 1.9 that could cause that.

Along with DPF, EGR, swirl valves...

The 2.2 Direct is probably the more reliable of the mainstream Vectra engines (I'm not counting the V6 or 2.0T). The 1.8 is probably the most reliable.

My point is really, is there a long standing fault with the components identified in the watchdog report on more than just the 2.2 petrol models?

Not really. I thought the supposed issue on Watchdog was more to do with the fuel that had been used?

Fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator. These will be different to the one's on diesel. so wouldn't worry about those issues affecting you.

No basically - the Watchdog report was specific to the 2.2 engine.
