Default 2.2 dti sri - head smashed to bits- help

    hi every one

just bought 52 reg 2.2 dti sri diesel with suspect piston blown.
    only done 40000

started stripping last night and found every single cam flower smashed to bits metal every where valves bent head nackered.

is this due to the ediot who had it driving it like an f1 and over reving ?

or is it some thing else ?

turbo seems ok and cant see any thing else wrong . just worried that if i put new head on and does it again ?

    any one had this

    cheers

Maybe due to cambelt failure? Does that engine have a belt or chain?

    yeah its chain

    and its fine.

i think one of cam folwers snapped and they wheren't sure what was up they have changed loads of parts and put gasket sealer all over them when re fixing then another one has snapped and he rev'd hell out of it till it smashed it self to bits

just wondered if any one else had a different idea or this has happened to them

    cheers

Never read this kind of thing before. I think your right, they were not sure how to fix it and then wrecked the engine by running it with a broken cam follower etc.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!
