Exclamation Veccy struggling in the winter!

    Hi All

is anyone else's Veccy struggling this winter starting up? if it were a person, i'd tuck it up in bed, feed it grapes and leave it with Trisha!

really chugging and having to pump accelerator a little to get it happier. Looking forward to service in a couple of months!

I only had trouble starting when i was leaving paris as it was -10 sounded like the bat was depleted but when started it still sounded a little rough for 5 mins then it was great

Think i need a new bat to be honest it does sound like the battery is not at its best anymore

Don't know about starting my 1.8 but if you do find a gear in the box, any one will do, stay in it because you wont be able to change gear until it warms up!!! A right pig when cold.

Batteries don't like the cold - they reduce performance.

No gear changing issues on my 04 1.8 manual

If I can start a 3-cylinder 1960's Perkins diesel with no preheater on the first turn at -6C, you all can start your Vectras. Or there's something very wrong.

I think its more the battery mate rather than the engine.
As when its cold it depletes and mine did alot it turned over alot slower and sounded rough for the first 2 mins then it was fine.

Diesel battries are alot better than petrol ones I belive
