    Default Panel Filters

I know most people on here go for K&N, are they the best? If so why? What are the other options as a performance replacement for a panel filter on my 1.8? Cheers Guys.

Yes K&N are the best due to warranty, performance, and the ability to clean them and not needing to replace. there are other manufactures around but I have always used K&N, they do make a difference to performance of your car so well worth the money.

Just to throw a spanner in the works............

Some members use the one from Courtenay Sport (inc. me in a GSi) - easy to clean as well in warm, soapy water. Then rinse, dry and re-oil with the oil spray that comes with the kit. Interested?

I've used the K&N and a fine filter it is BUT i've also tried the BMC and Courtenay Sport ones in different cars and they are equally as good.

Know I'm all confused! The Courtenay one seems a good price. Do they have lifetime guarantee's on them and are they re-usable? Although the applications list says Vectra C petrol excluding 1.8 and VXR?
