centre box or not

am getting a section of my exhaust upgraded tomorrow to 3" but should i get a centre box fitted. will it affect power and will it make much difference to the sound. i dont want it too loud so my ears bust

If you dont want it too loud then the centre section is essential IMHO. I got a cat back system fitted last year from powerflow - when it was fitted i never got a centre section fitted and it was very loud(too loud for me) and i also was getting resonance vibration's through the car, so i took it back and got a centre section fitted and its alot better

BTW mine is a 2.0T
