Default T-Mobile, any probs closing an account?

Wrote to T-Mobile on 15th January, to tell them I was closing my account with them, no probs with service just unable to get a decent upgrade.

Today have a bill for £96. Thankfully I cancelled my direct debit. They say that they never recieved my letter, and because calls were made from the phone they can't put back the date to cancell the account. The only calls made were if someone called me on the old no' which I divetrted to my new one before switching it off and putting it away.

A bit of an arguement later, they have cancelled the contract immediately and will be recalculating the bill. I stood my ground, remained calm and polite, although firm and insisted as I was not at fault, I will not accept any other outcome other than immediate cancellation, and reversal of this bill.

I will wait and see what comes through the post. Anyone else had a prob with T-Mobile?

Don't get me started on Vodafone - I had the Marketing Director on the phone to me grovelling at one point and I got £100 compensation!!!!

Yep. I went to court with them as I did EXACTLY the same thing as you.

Finally won and got costs out of them, but could of done without the hassle.

Strangely enough exactly £96 same as you?

You see I had a contract with them and was diverting calls from the T-Mobile Number to and Orange Number, I didnt use any of my free call usage each month.

But all the calls that were diverted wer treated as calls (Sorry if its unclear!!! lol)

So why didnt they debit my free call usage?

I know what you mean, don't worry.

Oh, and you're quite right. But they assume the account is still active. That particular line of the conversation didn't go very far. I just referred back to my letter instructing them to close the account.
