vetra2.2dti sxi lipm mode again?

Good evening all and a happy new year to all on the forum.I have a 2004 2.2 dti sxi which has been really good but recently on long drives on the motorway or the A68 Edinburgh to Newcastle the vehicle goes sluggish for a milisecing followed by spanner light on dashboard. T turn the engine off for a secong then start again and clears the fault and power restored.Does anyone else know of a fault or experienced this to their car? your help woule be grateful

Hi graham , you have joined the throng with this fault , common causes for this are
1 egr valve needs decocking
2 boost sensor needs cleaning
3 hole in hoses between turbo and manifold via intercooler
4 holes splits in vacuum hoses
5 vacuum actuattor/solenoid going faulty

all of the above could and would cause your car to go into limp mode as its known ,best cause would be to get it tech 2 ed at a dealer,s preferably with the warning light displayed to get it diagnosed get them to list what fault codes are highlighted and post the results on here someshould then b able to steer you straight

I had exactly the same problem as you in the summer, it turned out to be a split hose - replaced the hose and no problems since.
