upgrade
I'm not sure exactly what model of turbo is on the Saab - and it depends which variant of 9-3 you mean as there were three versions - 175bhp, 210 and the 240(ish) Aero. I know the Aero is a Mitsubishi turbo but not sure what's on the 210 variant. If it's bigger then if it was able to be fitted in it may give more power, but you'll have more lag.
Have you thought about just getting a remap?
As Duncan said, a remap is the way to go with that engine. I've experienced D's BSR remap first hand and it is veeeery impressive. As he also says, a bigger turbo will mean more lag because it will take longer for the exhaust gasses to spin it up. The turbo that's on is more than adequate to cause mayhem with a remap
how much is the stage one bsr and is their any group buys coming up soon does anyone know. i smile alot with it as standard but that bit more power is always good to have is their a big change in performance when done.
Oh yes. Put it this way; for about £550 you get a 20% increase in power and torque, a more responsive engine, markedly improved acceleration and a reputed 1 second off 0-60 time, and half a second off 30-50 in 4th. The improvement in acceleration is to die for. I would also recommend upgrading the front brakes to 314mm to rein in that extra power. More smiles per mile than in standard tune. Guaranteed.
But then again I'm biased.
thanks john the 314mm brakes are another mod on my to do list when i have the cash to do them.
