    Default SkyHD question

If I was to have 2 HD boxes in my house - would I have to pay 2 x £10 on top of my monthly subscription?

Monthly subscription is £48 + £10 multi-room - so would I have to pay another £20 for 2 HD boxes?

Yes mate, sure you would, or you could tell them your Tv isnt HD, they may waive the £10

I do know that in the near future the £10 HD fee will be scrubbed , dunno when though

I fit sky and have been told by customers that you only pay £10 to have the HD channels and if you add a second box (multiroom) then you just have to pay £10 for the multiroom box so having two hd boxes should cost the same as having a hd and sky+ box. Will check tomorrow as I was going to swop our sky+ to HD upstairs in the kids room.

Cheers mate - please keep me informed..

We've all the necessary wiring/LNB's in place - so would we be able to have self install boxes?? Dont fancy paying £30 for somebody to call and change a few wires... (we already have 2xsky+ boxes)

    Thanks

The answer to your question is: to have Sky HD you will require Your Subscription (£48) Sky HD Channels (£10) and Sky Multi-Room (£10) total = £68 pcm.

It costs £10 to have HD Channels, it does not matter that your Multi-Room box is a Plain Sky Box, Sky+ Box or a Sky+ HD Box if you pay for HD channels you will recieve HD on both your main box and muti-room box (you will just not be able to watch them unless you had an HD Box).

Depending on your origional setup you may need a LNB change (the sicky out bit off the dish the coax cable goes into) to a Quad LNB £10 off ebay or Maplins etc.. and very simple to fit. Chances are you have a Quad LNB anyway.

You should be able to buy a HD box and connect it up as its the same connections as sky+ with just the hdmi cable going to the tv instead of the scart.

    Thanks Gromit..

Also, I was told by a sky salesman just over 2 weeks ago that the HD boxes were going to be reduced to £50 in 2 weeks - but i'm yet to see it happen.

Is there any truth in this?

    Thanks again

I was told there would be a deal on some of there equipment but that was all the management would say. I usually find out whats happening from customers as sky tell us nothing.

Best bet is to talk to someone at one of the sky stalls that you find in shopping centres etc.
