They will still work as normal, no warnings etc, but the current draw will be excessive for the wiring loom and thus give you problems.
It is also illegal to use anything other than 55W E rated lamps in the car.

It'll fry your headlight wiring as the current being pulled will be too much than it was designed for - not to mention it's likely to get you pulled.

I'm sure someone tried 100W bulbs and it wasn't a happy ending.

IIRC 100w are illegal for normal road use (ECE Regulation 37 ?).

Mate of mine has had one in his motorbike for 5 years. Didn't use a relay due to the extra load, just lots of copper grease on the buld terminals. To be honest, you can't really "see" any more of the road when compared to his standard 55w one.

Wouldn't go with 100W, but I ran Philips Rally 80W H7 in my Corsa C with no problems at all for 18 months.

Don,t do it. I once had a Granada Where I put them in. They worked a treat. The head lights were aimed correctly, so did not blind anyone. I changed that motor for a Seirra and fitted the same bulbs. When I opened the bonnet, I noteced the grease on the battery terminals " smocking" due to the current draw........ Good job the wiring did not melt, It could have cought fire!!
