    Default Which HIDs to get?

I've been reading the many threads about HIDs and the associated problems and fantastic results with interest.

I am now in the position to get some for myself and want to get something that won't cause me endless problems (because a) I can't afford to be without my car and b) I am no mechanic or electrician) and will essentially be "fit and forget".

So far, it seems that my 2 best options are:

    1) MTEC HID kit for Vectra C from HIDs Direct (£155)

    2) H7 Ultimate HID kit from HIDs 4 U (£195)

Both are 35W and I would get the 6000K versions.

What experience does anyone have of these? Oh, and is there any kind hearted soul within shouting distance of Gloucester who could help me fit them?

Seeing as noone else has replied, I'll get my tuppenceworth in first

There seem to have been a few complaints recently about problems with the kits from HIDs Direct, ranging from supply issues to flickering bulbs.

I've got the Ultimate Kit from HIDs4U and it works perfectly. 6000k is white with only a hint of blue, its great

I have these on mine for a few months now and they have been spot on, you need warning cancellers to stop the bulb warning light (these come with the kit when asked anyway) so based on mine, I can highly recommend them.

My personal view is that you don't need to spend £££'s on HiD kits to get the desired results - been there, tried that.

    Default hids

There's a few of us with full canbus that have had problems with the hids4u ultimate kits

I've had the drivers side ballast fail four times over the past 14 months, and despite their guarantees they wont refund me- they just keep sending replacements.

They say they'll refund within 28 days but the 2 year warranty they give is just to cover replacement parts only

However, they've modified the ballasts in the last few weeks and they're sending me a new set so fingers crossed....they're also sending a new wiring loom to connect the lights straight to the battery, ie bypassing the ecu

I have the HIDS4U Ultimate kit as well, and have had no problems with them at all, plus they're easy to fit.

Those are the ones I had - they blew up when water got into the ballest, as it wasn't sealed properly. Worked 100% until then, though.
