Painting Calipers

Id like to paint my brake calipers red but aint got the first idea on how to do this.

Is it hard or easy, bearing in mind i havent got the first idea how to take calipers off etc so dont want to bogger it up!

A step by step guide would be good if someone could do one for me

its just a case of removing them,( 2 bolts at the back and brake pipe) give them a de-greasing and a mega clean the paint them and put back on, i always use hammerite paints m8

Sound job!

Been looking in the archives and some people didnt even take theres off, just took the wheel off? id rather do that because thats easy, dont wanna take too much off and not be able to get it all back together

Sujestions?

i painted mine on...........just dont get paint on discs or pads........red smooth hammerite is the better for value option ...i was a novice too.just painted what i thought needed painting ...had no problems,all worked afterwards lol

is the hammerite stuff got a high level of heat resistence?

I did the same with mine. (before i got the upgrade on the fronts anyway)

Hammerite is designed to widthstand high amounts of heat as well so it won't melt off you caliper.

Yea as said mate, hammerite is the way to go. Always done mine with it. I used to have a dark green Vec B GSi and I did the calipers in hammerite gloss white, half expecting them to go yellow. I had the car 2 years and the day i got rid of it, they were still gloss white.

Wicked, Well my veccy is Silver so i think im going to do them Red!

Just going to paint them on i think, cant break nothing then! lol thanks for the piccys parsco.
