Spoons Race of Champions - pics

Wembley Stadium is host to the 2008 Race of Champions whereby the World Champions in various motorsport categories battle it out to see who is the Champion of Champions.

This year it was held on December 14th (my birthday ) and I was fortunate enough to see drivers like Micheal Schumacher, Lewis Hamilton, Damon Hill, David Coulthard, Jenson Button, Christian Loab, Jason Plato, amongst many many other world class drivers...

Anyways, on the following Thursday I was invited back to Wembley Stadium to race against other karting enthusiasts. We were racing 2-stroke DMax Karts with Italian racing chassis.

Our team came second overall and I managed to secure the fastest lap of the race. Whilst I was on the podium, it was also confirmed that I had also set the Wembley Stadium Karting Lap Record at 35.903 seconds. So I was a little shocked in the picture - lol (its me in the 5th picture (absolutely knackered) holding my 'tiny' trophy - lol)

I watched the R of C bit of a let down in the end I seem to recall. didn't DC bend a motor? Entertaining all the same nothing like being at the place

It was great on the day, but it was extremely cold and the track was very slippery. The 'Man V's Machine' challenge was called off as it was to slippery

DC Crashed loads of times - lol.... he stuffed one of the cars into the barriers, and then his F1 car into the barrier and stalled it - lol

I have to say though... Micheal Schumacher was awsome, man, he can control a car.... absolutely awsome....
