Default Vectra Estate - Window Sensors

    Hi to all.
I have Vectra Estate Design 2007, the Safeguard Check came on the display but the Alarm has not gone of took it into the Dealership, they say that the two quarter windows at the rear have sensors and that both have broken wires due to scratch, i have looked and can not see any scratch or wires on the inside. no chips or cracks they look perfect to me, but they are adamant, the cost to have it fixed is over 400.00 quid. can someone enlighten me as to where these invisible wires are and where i can take the car to get another opinion.
Have never carried anything that would have touched the windows, just cleaned them as you do.
I also believe the Estate only has these sensors on the rear windows.
    Thanks

hello, had the same problems last week with the osr quarter window, shorted the link out and ok since, you can either take off the two trim panels in the back to access the connections or just pull them off via access through the two side access panels, get a two inch bit of wire with spade connections on each end and link the two wires on each side together and save yourself some cash

    Thumbs down Fuse

    Hi

I also had the same problem with my Vectra 07 estate, the alarm going off at random times. I took it to main dealers who insisted it was the near side window break (i.e sensor)...

I did ask them to show me the break and they were unable / unwilling to do so...

They did say that it was not covered under warranty and I would have to pay

I left the garage, unplugged fuse 23 in the boot and it works great

    Hope this helps others

Just short it out if anyone smashes in the internal sensors will set off the alarm.

Sorry for the delay in replying, but have had a long stay in Hospital, as JasonCA I to asked the Garage to show me the the breaks in window ie scratch, they to also were not willing to show me. As to DCH150'S suggestion this worked a treat. I did take a magnifying glass and checked each window carefully and could not find a break anywhere, but there still remains the question as to why the safeguard check is registering rear window sensor fault, so lets not let this one go until we have an answer folks, thanks to all. Paul
