confused Instrument Panel dials lit when external lights off

    Hi All,

Having recently changed from a 52 plate vectra to an 06 plate, the dials are lit even when the outside lights are off. Does anyone know if this is switchable, e.g. so that they stay off until the sidelights are switched on?
Perhaps I just need to get used to it, but it does make it easier to forget to switch the outside lights on!

It's normal on the facelifts. It may be possible to alter it via Tech 2 - not sure. If you leave the lights on the chimer will still go off when you open the door.

Thanks for the information, sounds like a trip to the dealer and about £40 to hook up their computer then?
I notice there is still mention of this years calendar on your reply, is there still a chance of getting hold of one?

Yeah, that's about the going rate for a Tech 2 session.

Re calendar - yes, you can still get one. I need to change my sig link as there's a second batch thread - http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=66892

There should be a green warning light in the speedo housing to indicate when you've got the sidelights / headlights on.

You do get used to it after a while then when you get in a car with the dash lights off, you find it weird that they're not lit.
