    Default Tom Tom Map's

    Guy's,

I have quite an old Tom Tom, I think its the Tom Tom One, its about 2-3'ish years old.

Thing is loads of the roads, etc are all out of date and sometime's cant even find by manual input of address let alone post code.

Whats the best way to get the latest map's? And how do I upload them to the TomTom.

I have been to the TomTom website and the latest map's for UK and Ire are £29.99, a bit steel when you think a brand new TomTom is only £99.99.

    Thanks Guy's!

You've just answered your own question basically. They've currently got an offer on with 30% off maps.

You need to download the TomTom Home software relevant to your model. It may be 1.5 and not 2.0 as yours is an earlier model.

For any other idiot thinking of posting up links to Torrent sites etc. - think again. Your post will be deleted and an infraction sent.

Could this be as easy as putting in the mmeory card from the european Tom Tom into my tom tom 1?

Well I was hoping to avoid doing it through TomTom direct...thought there may be a cheaper way around it, naturally I was looking into a legal way as opossed to a dodgy download, incase it completely scr3ws the TomTom up.

Is there a site which allows you to download cheper? No illegal download based?

I did see that but at £30.00 a map, I thought it was quite steep, especially as a new one with the latest map's is onyl £99.99 new.

How would I check this? I assume it will be on the actual sat nav itself? Will have a gander this evening!

AFAIK the TomTom site store is the only place that you can legally download the maps from.

No, the Home software is PC based and it's what you use to sync with the unit. I think you may have to use v1.5 if yours is a v1 unit, but the site will have details.
